Starting in January, I was on a fast paced roll towards graduation and couldn't have been more EXCITED! In my last year (2009-2010) I had a 15 credit fall semester followed by 12 credits worth of Cleps (tests that you can take to test out of a class) over Christmas break and topped that off with a massive 22 credits in the Spring. I felt so on top of my game I was ready to get out there and start my career. About 3 weeks before graduation I started to look for jobs and found quite a few. So I started applying thinking that I would casually do so until graduation was completed. I was told about a job that MIGHT be coming available that would be PERFECT for what I want. Although it won't be available until Aug. or Sept. The person that would be leaving this position said that I had a great chance at it as well. I didn't want to rely on this position only and have it fall through or have something else pass by so I continued on with my job search. Graduation came and went and I have applied for nearly 30 jobs with not 1 interview. Needless to say I was getting pretty down on myself. With looking for jobs daily and not hearing anything back it took a toll on my confidence.
I had to take a big step back and look at the big picture. I am actively searching and trying so why should I be down on myself, it's not like I am not trying. I came to the conclusion that I don't have to look EVERY day, I can look once or twice a week and still be actively looking. I should be happy that I have this time to spend with my kids, not sulking because I haven't heard anything. Maybe this was a sign saying, "HEY! Take a breath, relax and enjoy what you accomplished." SO, I am going to do just that! I am going to sit back and watch my kids enjoy the world around them. There are so many things that I want to do as well. I'm going to take pictures of random stuff, do art, decorate cakes (I have my first wedding cake in a month), and just do all the stuff I wanted to do but kept saying I would when I was done with school.
LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!!
