Sad Day In The Neighborhood

I am writing this knowing that in less than 24 hours my little sister will be the furthest away from me she has been since birth. We were buddies when we were younger with the occasional fights that sisters have. Then in our teen years it was opposite with fights constantly with occasional bouts of friendliness. I am the big sister and took that role with pride.

Rachel, I was there to yell for help when you were 4 years old and chocking on a jaw breaker, there for you when you fell off the jungle gym in elementary school and had to get stitches, there for you through the many break ups and fights with friends and boyfriends, there to back you up when you got a little mouthy but didn’t want to fight, :) there to give you the hymlic maneuver when you were choking on a Jolly Rancher, there to be your Matron of Honor at your wedding, and there for the birth of your children. I want you to know that even with over 2000 miles between us I am still your big sister and will ALWAYS be here for you.

I love you with all my heart and know that this journey in your life will be an amazing one for you, Matt, and the kids.
